"You've reached the inbox of Jeremiah Gottwald. I'm unavailable at the moment, but leave a message and I'll return your call as soon as possible. Thank you."
"Technology has accomplished incredible things in my time," Jeremiah can't help agreeing, grinning wider. For all his morbid sentiments about it, he also carries pride in what he's endured, everything he can do with that power. "It's awe-inspiring in a way, even being in the middle of all of it."
The unfocused look in his eyes sharpens as he glances to Zichen, then ahead. "Ah, right. The walls aren't much to look at, are they?"
With a flicker of thought, a projection lights up in front of them, displaying the view out the hangar doors. Rather rudimentary as compared to other Knightmares, but at least they'd put one in at all as backup.
He shakes his head, flying them out of the doors and into the surroundings, skirting low but easily avoiding any obstacles. "No, not typically. I 'see' out of the same instruments that create the image we're looking at. It's far easier to get a sense of things around me if it feels more like looking out of my own eyes than through a window."
In truth, he actually wasn't sure a display was something they'd equipped until recently. Jeremiah had only thought to check on a whim, pleasantly surprised to find a program buried somewhere and have the wall of the cockpit light up.
The explanation at least gets a nod. It does make sense, as much as Zichen can understand what he's saying, his gaze drifting back to the display as they move over the city.
"It's..different and likely faster but I do think I prefer my sword, although perhaps more time inside this might change that to some degree."
Coming from a world where technology was responsible for most of these things, he tended to try and explain the technical side, rather than just how he experiences it. Any time it came up before, he felt he sounded strange describing being a part of a machine, but the concepts don't seem so outlandish to the other man.
"It certainly can't beat the portability of your sword, or a far less limited power source. I will say the Siegfried's strongest point is defense; it coined the classification of 'Fortress' for a reason." He can't help but sound proud, considering the things he's experienced and still lived to tell the tale. "Its speed isn't bad, either."
Glancing to Zichen, his grin grows. "Would you like a demonstration?"

"So this is how you see?"
